For your consideration, a reprint of the 1930 Oley Township Consolidated School dedication program. The school was built in 1929 to replace several one-room and other small schoolhouses. By 1963, the school served as the Oley Elementary Center. Regular classes were discontinued in 1993 when the building was renovated for administrative purposes. The building was demolished in 2018, after nearly 90 years of service to the community.
Included in the 52-page program are articles entitled “The History of the Oley Schools” written by Newton W. Geiss, and “The Consolidation of Oley Township” written by F. H. Stauffer. The program contains details on the building’s construction, a listing of staff, photos, and many interesting ads from area businesses. The book is 5.25″ wide x 8.5″ long.
